Tirupati is located in Andhra Pradesh, India. Tirupati is an ancient Hindu temple town having historical references in Puranas. The temple of Lord Venkateswara is located on the Tirumala hill and Tirupati is at the foot steps of the Tirumala hills. Every day around 1 lakh people visit this place. It has great reputation for famous temples.

The newly created "Greater Tirupati" covers a large area with a population of over 10 lakhs, covering geographical area from Srikalahasti in the north to Puttur in the south, which is about 1400 km.

Tirupati has one international airport, and is head quarters to six universities.
